Hello.

Happy October!!! My favorite month of the year. IT's been a hot minute, so let me reintroduce myself ....

I’m Angie, the self taught artist behind all of the illustrations. As I was nannying my way through college, I would spend hours with the children, drawing characters for them to color. Those sketches made their way into their Mom's stationery business and a year later, that very business became my own. I was fresh out of college with an environmental education degree and all of a sudden I found myself running a flourishing stationery business. We called it the little engine that could, producing and filling orders out of our little kitchen, for over 50 retail locations nationwide. Over time, inkSpotts shifted and evolved, from a custom personalized paperie to freelance work with Food 52, Chic-fil-a, Shutterfly, Elf on the Shelf movie and more. For the past 7 years, it has taken a back seat while I took the time to spend with my 2 children, now 11 and 7. Three of those years were spent as home-school teacher to them where I loved creating content for our curriculum, combining my educational background with my love for illustration (more on that coming later!) Now that both kids are back in school, I am excited to return to inkSpotts full time and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for that little engine that could. I love what I do and I often think how different my life would be if I hadn’t answered that ad in the newspaper for a nanny 22 years ago.

In honor of our TWENTY FIRST anniversary (WOW! that is a long time!) and returning to inkSpotts full time, I have decided to dust off the ol' blog. I hope that you will take a minute here and there, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and dig in. Along the way I'll share snippets from behind the scenes, a peak at what I am working on, a little tid-bit of something that I am really liking at the moment ( music, food, product, book, current trend, another artist or maker, a small business....) and much more.

More about me:
